Nationwide — Wendy Williams, who just turned 55-years old, will be producing a movie about her own life and its ups and downs. It will be set to air on Lifetime, the same network that produced and aired the Surviving R. Kelly documentary series.
Williams herself will be the executive producer with Girls Trip producer Will Packer, while Boomerang screenwriter Leigh Davenport is writing the script. The biopic is set to air in 2020 and will also include a documentary based on William’s life, produced by Entertainment One (eOne) and Creature Films.
Recently, Williams has been in a rough time as she filed a divorce in April from her husband of more than 20 years, Kevin Hunter, after he cheated and even fathered a child with his mistress. She has since removed Hunter as executive producer of The Wendy Williams Show and closed The Hunter Foundation they co-founded as a couple in 2014.
Williams has also endured challenges in the past decades even before her success in radio and TV. She revealed that she has been suffering from Lymphedema, which had caused swelling in her ankles. She has also struggled with addiction issues and has been living in sober home as she worked on her health.
