Manhattan, NY — Don Lemon, host of CNN Tonight, received disturbing death threats from an anonymous person who describes himself as a white nationalist and Trump supporter. Lemon tried to press charges, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s office says the case is not worth prosecuting.

Lemon called the police after receiving numerous death threats from a man who is a “conservative pro-gun anti-Islam anti-terrorist anti-leftist,” according to his Twitter bio.

The man sent Lemon messages such as “F**k you ni**** can’t wait to stab your neck” and “U r a pile of rotting Dog s**t, racist, communist, socialist, Liberal moron asshole, I will find U, U will pay. I’ll see u real soon…”

The threats were determined to be “aggrieved harassment” by the New York Police Department who investigated the case. A police spokesperson also confirmed that Lemon was sent “numerous threatening and anti-Black messages to his Twitter inbox from an unknown individual.”

Still, there were no arrests made.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office declared that they will not be pursuing any charges because they thought it isn’t a pressing issue and the death threats outweighed the possible punishment, which would have been less than one-year imprisonment.

Last week, in an on-air conversation with Chris Cuomo, where they discussed the killing of two Black people outside a Kroger grocery store in Kentucky, Lemon said, “The biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”
