Nationwide — Singer/producer Pharrell Williams recently got very emotional when being interviewed by Oprah about his hit song “Happy.” He had just explained how fast the song took off, and then Oprah showed him a collection of video clips of fans from all over the world dancing to his tune.
As Pharrell wiped his tears away, Oprah told him “It makes me cry, too!” She then offered him some tissue, and added, “I know. It’s beautiful.”
Pharrell then commented, “It’s overwhelming, because it’s like I love what I do, and I just appreciate the fact that people have believed in me for so long that I could make it to this point to feel that.”
Oprah responded with, “It’s [the song] being used for something greater than yourself. I get that.”
She added, “I so now get why it’s so infectious… because it came from such a clear space that the energy was absolutely uninterrupted by anything than allowing it to flow from heart to heart.”
