Former NFL Player Dies of a Heart Attack at Age 28

Lorenzo Taliaferro, former NFL player dies

Williamsburg, VA — Former Baltimore Ravens player Lorenzo Taliaferro has reportedly died from a heart attack. He was only 28-years old.

According to reports, medics responded to a call about someone needing medical attention. The patient, which was identified as Taliaferro, was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The official cause of his death has yet been disclosed but his family said Taliaferro had a heart attack that led to his death.

Taliaferro was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He rushed for an impressive 292 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season. His playing days ended prematurely because of injuries.

Meanwhile, his Head Coach John Harbaugh, who coached him for three seasons, expressed his condolences in Taliaferro’s death.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lorenzo Taliaferro,” he said in a statement. “Lorenzo was a kind, smart, respectful, and determined young man — someone always committed to his teammates and well-liked by everyone in our organization. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lorenzo’s family. May he rest in peace.”
