Jackets For Jobs NASDAQ

Alison Vaughn, Founder & CEO of Jackets for Jobs

New York, NY – In honor of World Humanitarian Day, Tuesday, August 19, 2014, Jackets for Jobs, Inc, Founder & CEO, Alison Vaughn rang the closing bell at NASDAQ in New York City. A coveted opportunity reserved for the world’s most prestigious business leaders.

World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit that inspires humanitarian work around the globe. This day was very fitting for Vaughn to ring the closing bell because Jackets for Jobs is a global organization filling an unmet need in the community. “What an honor it is to ring the NASDAQ bell on such a meaningful day,” stated Vaughn. “Jackets for Jobs will continue to impact and shape lives for a long time,” she added.

Jackets for Jobs (JFJ) is a nationally recognized award-winning nonprofit organization that provides career skills training, interview training, work etiquette and professional clothes to individuals seeking employment.

Jackets for Jobs has had a tremendous impact on the community since opening its doors in March 2000. The organization has given hope to over 18,000 hopeless jobseekers by providing professional attire and employment training. The organization is headquartered in Detroit, with two locations and has an office in Botswana.

Vaughn is an author, entrepreneur and a Goldman Sachs Scholar in the 10k Small Businesses program. She has appeared on national television programs, such as Oprah, Martha Stewart and The Today’s Show. Vaughn will speak to over 1,000 women at the Women’s Islamic Economic Forum in DUBAI in October, about the unique model of her nonprofit, its hybrid influence and the overall impact on the economy.
