Introducing One of the First Ever Anime-Style Comic Series With Black Characters

Nationwide — Robert, who goes by the pen name “Nexik,” has launched an original comic book series on Kickstarter called “Boundless”. It’s a series that is heavily inspired by anime and manga, but with likable and well-designed Black characters.

The main premise is to venture into virtually uncharted territory in anime storytelling by introducing real diversity in a way that not only represents the diverse anime fans around the world, but also have the dark-skinned characters be relatable to everyone regardless of race and skin color.

Here’s the synopsis:

Three colorful heroes fight a corrupted, superpower and unpredictable world where humanity has discovered the power to create, destroy, and alter the natural rules of the cosmos. When man found it they used it to create super-powered humans called “Boundless”.

With the aid of the Boundless, humanity formed a massive and powerful force called “ARCH”. Their goal is to keep the order by any means and create more Boundless to strengthen their coil. With the powerful ARCH in control, no one has ever resisted them and lived, except for three renegade Boundless that will slowly attempt to spark the fire of chance and demolish ARCH.

(Inspirations: One Piece, My Hero Academia-“ish”, Naruto, Start Wars. “Among other things.” )
