CNN Correspondent Rene Marsh’s 2-Year Old Son Dies from Brain Cancer

Nationwide — Rene Marsh, a CNN correspondent based in Washington, DC, is mourning the death of her 2-year old son Blake after a battle with brain cancer.

Since learning about her son’s condition, Marsh had been openly talking about it. Last year, she revealed that her son was diagnosed with brain cancer in an editorial she wrote for CNN urging people to wear face masks. She pointed out that it could help prevent spreading the virus and potentially save the life of her son, who was undergoing chemotherapy at that time.

Blake reportedly had been in remission for 6 months, but his cancer returned in February. Two months later, he died.

Marsh shared the tragic news on her Instagram along with the photos of baby Blake.

“In your 25 months on earth, you taught me how much strength I had stored up in reserve that I didn’t know I had. You taught me endurance. You taught me a depth of love I have never experienced. You inspired me to keep going when I wanted to give up. You helped me prioritize what is truly important in this life,” she wrote.

In addition, Marsh expressed her dedication to fighting pediatric cancer for the rest of her life.

“I will do it not just to spare other parents from this unbearable pain but I will do it to forever honor you, Blake,” she said.
