Nationwide — African American designers and innovators have been excelling for years in fashion, art and software development. Many have been successful as entrepreneurs with their own business enterprises, while others have been hired to work for Fortune 500 companies and other small businesses across the country.
#1 – Contemporary Designer for Jennifer Lopez Clothing and Decor: Will work at Kohl’s headquarters to actively participate in the conceptual development of the Jennifer Lopez brand and provide direction for color and art development. Also, involves partnering with with the trend and design team to prioritize trends for area of responsibility and to share creative ideas.
#2 – Communications Design Manager at the Oakland Museum of California: Will work as the key interface between the Design Studio and the institution for non-exhibition based 2D design needs. Will be responsible for ensuring that the design needs of the institution are being met and that the graphic design output is on brand.
#3 – Product Designer at Nautilus Labs: Will work passionately to solve complex, real-world problems in maritime shipping to bring together human-centered design and lean and agile philosophies to deliver value and delight to customers. Will need to collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and business stakeholders.
#4 – Social Content Creator at Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN): Will primarily include developing content for social channels such as GIFs, video pieces, graphic assets and images, etc. Will be a self-starter with start-to-finish graphic design experience either at a major agency, brand, or entertainment company.
#5 – Associate Designer at Kohl’s: Will support product design, and create tech packs, trim sheets and design packages. Will help with handbag design and will presents new creative ideas in working sessions to influence cross-functional partners on product direction
#6 – Animator at Playstation: Will collaborate with a versatile team of 3D artists, C++ programmers, and other Unreal developers and designers to build fluid, life-like animations. Will get the chance to demonstrate your knowledge of animation principles and character motions through a blend of key-frame animation and motion capture.
#7 – Technical Designer at Kohl’s: Will conduct quality and value analysis of samples to suggest product improvements that deliver customer expectations. Will also develop innovative solutions to recommend efficiencies in process or product related solutions to promote best outcome for Kohl’s workplace and/or customer.
