Brother of Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump Gets 2 Months in Plea Deal After Rape Allegations

Police Officer Vincent Crump arrested for assaulting women

Ex-Police Officer Vincent Crump

Tallahassee, FL — Vincent Crump, a 44-year old former police officer from Florida, will be spending 2 months behind bars after being convicted of sexual battery in connection to the alleged sexual assault of a woman during a traffic stop in 2018. Vincent is the brother of Benjamin Crump, the civil rights attorney who represented the family of Trayvon Martin who was unjustly killed in 2012.

Benjamin is a hero, but Vincent has been charged with 3 counts of sexual battery by a law enforcement officer. He pleaded no contest to felony aggravated assault after 2 mistrials in the case.

Crump will also serve 5 years of probation and relinquish his law enforcement credentials. He will not be allowed to work in law enforcement anymore and will undergo psychosexual evaluation.

In February 2018, Crump was on-duty when he pulled a woman over and insinuated that her car smelled marijuana. He reportedly offered her a deal to have sex with him at a local park so she wouldn’t be arrested.

The woman reported the incident to police as rape. Crump was immediately fired on that same day.

Meanwhile, Crump’s defense attorney claimed that even though Crump having sex with the woman violated law enforcement standards, it was consensual.
