New York, NY (BlackNews.com) - On Wednesday, July 12th the Tanqueray 'Tique opened its doors at the Aurora Gallery located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. This four-week designer showcase will feature some of the latest in men's urban clothing and accessory trends as well as several up-and-coming menswear designers including Michael Wesetly, alife, and Fuse Green's Wheatbread Life.
The New York launch of the Tanqueray 'Tique is a unique twist to its debut earlier this year in Washington D.C. where the makers of Tanqueray gin provided nearly $10,000 in interior design upgrades to well-known menswear shop, Shaka King New York. Recognizing the mark that urban fashion entrepreneurs are making within the fashion industry, the Tanqueray 'Tique provides an additional platform for designers to showcase their wares and attract new clientele.
"Personal style and fashion play an important role in our consumer's every day lives," said Russell Buckner, Brand Manager for Tanqueray. "The Tanqueray 'Tique allows us to offer a unique environment in which various elements of style can be represented including everything from upscale denim to men's suits, and even limited edition and custom-made sneakers."
While in New York, the Tanqueray 'Tique will host weekly networking events featuring a specific style theme with corresponding clothing and live entertainment. Guests ages 21 and older will have the opportunity to meet the designers, receive style tips, and learn more about the clothing lines on display.
The launch event featured designs by Michael Wesetly who describes his lines as "highly expressive and uniquely inspired by the style conscious man." Additionally, jewelry designs by HP and shoes by Head Over Heels were on display. Tanqueray spokesperson Tony Sinclair made a surprise guest appearance and reminded guests that responsible drinking is always in style. Disturbing Tha Peace Records artist, Bobby Valentino also provided a live performance with additional music spun by DJ Reborn.
Additional designers and entertainment that will be featured at the Tanqueray 'Tique in New York include jeweler BiJules NYC, Francis Hendy, Qool (pronounced Cool), DJ Marv, and DJ Pete Rock. The finale event will include a live performance by J Davey, music spun by DJ Waajeed, and an art exhibit by Livingroom Johnston.
The Aurora Gallery is located at 515 West 29th Street & 10th Avenue in Manhattan.
