Sweet Berry Lane Provides Much Needed Selection to African American Stationery and Greeting Cards
Holly Springs, NC (BlackNews.com) - Logging on to your favorite greeting card website, or walking into the local stationery store and trying to find invitations or greeting cards featuring African Americans can be a tumultuous task. Simply put, most stationery stores online and off feature little if any African American invitations or greeting cards. Want one featuring African American kids? Again, you are most likely will be out of luck, until now, thanks to a new company called Sweet Berry Lane.
Sweet Berry Lane specializes in creating greeting cards and stationery that features African American children and adults. The company sells invitations, announcements, Christmas greeting cards, and gifts all featuring African Americans in a positive light.
"I have two young kids, and if my son wants to have a pirate themed party, I want to be able to find stationery that looks like he does, or if my daughter wants a ballerina themed party, I want to be able to find invitations that represent her," explains Sweet Berry Lane Founder and Owner, Yolanda Jones, in regards to her motivation for creating this innovative company.
Sweet Berry Lane's initial offerings include Christmas Cards for the upcoming holiday season, kid party invitations featuring African American princesses, ballerinas, pirates, and more. Sweet Berry Lane is also offering invitations for cooking parties, sleepover parties, and sweet 16 gatherings. The company will offer African American themed baby shower, bridal shower, and other wedding related invitations. Sweet Berry Lane will introduce it's formal line of Wedding Invitations called "The Anayah Collection" in the Spring of 2008.
"At the heart of this company is the concept that African Americans are underrepresented in the greeting card and stationery markets. We wanted to develop a line of cards that was fun, whimsical, and portrayed African Americans in a positive light. Sweet Berry Lane is here for all those that want stationery products that resonate with their culture, and their family and friends," notes Sweet Berry Lane founder Yolanda Jones.
Taking the underrepresentation of minorities in greeting cards and stationery a step further, Sweet Berry Lane is offering multicultural invitations featuring three girls of different ethnicities in a fun and positive pose.
Sweet Berry Lane will be offering its cards and stationery for sale on its website, and invites wholesale orders from retail stores nationwide.
In an industry ironically known as a specialty focused one, the alarming trend of uniform gift cards and stationery is finally changing thanks to companies like Sweet Berry Lane.
