Presently,
large numbers of the voting public now believe that
powerful interest groups and their lobbyists shape much
of the legislation coming out of Washington, D.C. In
some cases, it is very true that the “inside the
beltway” politics does shape the debate, both
in Washington and across the country.
Regardless,
the biggest interest group in America and its most powerful
lobbying group is YOU, the “common” folks.
The power that you hold is even more powerful than any
group or high-priced lobbyist. You have the power of
the vote. Without your vote, there is no Representative,
Senator, or President.
Somewhere
along the line, folks have been lead to believe their
individual vote doesn’t have any power. Please
don’t believe the hype. Yes, there have been problems
at the polls. But, this is why you have to fight even
harder to make sure your vote counts. No vote can ever
be ignored.
So
when you hear about a town hall meeting or event being
held by your federal representative or Presidential
Candidate, it is your responsibility to attend and make
sure your voice is heard.
Just
remember, regardless of the power any of these elected
officials may have or think they have, whether they
are members of Congress, the U.S. Senate or even President
of the United States, they all have to face the hardcore
reality that they are just temporary employees.
More
importantly, the “common” folk have the
power to end their employment every 2, 4, or 6 years.
Power
to the People!
