Richmond, VA (BlackNews.com) - Whatever Richmond native Nikki Turner sets her mind to, she makes it happen. Turner's first book released by Random House, The Glamorous Life released on April 26, is already a bestseller, and is on its third printing. To set in stone that her book will break all records in the urban lit market, the Queen of Hip-Hop Fiction , Nikki Turner hosted a book release gala, at the exclusive member's only Downtown Club of Richmond, complete with a red carpet, spotlight and media interviews.

Contributing to the "Hollywood effect" of The Glamorous Life book release gala, was the emcee, actor Trey Chaney, from the HBO series, "The Wire. Richmond personalities were not left out of the evening's festivities. Radio personality, Mahogany Brown, midday host on WBTJ's 106.5 The Beat, did the honors of covering the red carpet entrances of the guests. While guests were being announced on the red carpet, a pianist was playing the classics, entertaining them as they entered the beautifully decorated club.

After the Queen of Hip-Hop Fiction made her grand entrance on the red carpet and proceeded to the ball room to be introduced to her fans, celebrities and literary insiders, she signed the first book of the evening for Virginia senator, Benjamin Lambert, III, who spoke proudly of Turner's accomplishments.

Turner truly was the Queen of the ball, as she worn designer gowns, provided by sponsor C-Us Boutique of Richmond, VA. She entered the club in an elegant black tiered gown, later signed books in a green halter-back beaded gown, and then arrived to the after-party in a red, handkerchief hemmed tea-length dress.

The evening ended at the Hyperlink nightclub, located on Virginia Commonwealth University's campus, were the book gala's guests went for the after-party. Upon Turner's arrival at the Hyperlink, the trailer to her newest project, a movie/DVD entitled, Rough Draft was shown. Rough Draft is a depiction of the life of best selling author Nikki Turner, and will be released nationwide in the fall of 2005. Exclusive sponsors are still being sought for the movie/DVD project, who wish to be a part of Turner's growing multimedia empire.
