New York, NY (BlackNews.com) – Aundrea Lacy had no idea the chocolaty, mouth-watering brownie recipe she transposed by accident in 1996, would turn into one of the most popular online bakery services that specializes in heart-shaped brownies. Today, she celebrates 10 years of success. She will be joined by more than 250 people Thursday, October 12, at the 40/40 Club in New York City. Hosting the event will be CNN award-winning journalist, anchor Valerie Morris and to assist Aundrea in baking, will be celebrity chief, award-winning actress/singer Sheryl Lee Ralph. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

“It's been a long road to reach ten years,” says Aundrea, founder of LUV'S Brownies, “but the rewards have been many. I am doing something that I absolutely love. I bake from my heart.”

Aundrea started baking for a friend in college who helped her land a job at a Fortune 500 computer company. As a thank you, she asked her friend what he wanted. He replied: “Just bake me some brownies.” Aundrea whipped up the ingredients and delivered the brownies to her colleague. He replied: “Those brownies are awesome.”

During her graduating semester at San Jose State University, Aundrea and her counselor realized she failed the same math class five times. A few weeks later, she was tested for Dyslexia. That's when she realized; she had been transposing numbers and had also transposed her famous brownie recipe by accident. Realizing that some detriments are blessings, she created and started her company Luv's Brownies.

In 2004 and 2005, Luv's Brownies was the proud recipient of the People's Choice “Best Sweet” Dessert Award at the Annual International Hospitality Celebration. Aundrea has been featured on The Montel Williams Show, Essence magazine, Black Enterprise , Ebony magazine and highlighted and acknowledge by Barbara Walters. After being featured on The Montel Williams Show, and in a variety of print publications, Aundrea received more than 10,000 letters from customer and potential customers wanting to know her story. How did she market the business? How did she overcome her challenges with dyslexia?

Because 90% of the emails and letters Aundrea received were from women, she decided to write her first book: "Brownie Points,” From Homemade Brownies to My Own Internet Bakery, which will be published by Agate Publishing and will be available spring 2007.  The book explains there is not a perfect time to do anything -- whether it is starting a business or going back to school. There will always be challenges. Her self-published book, “LUV STORY” can be purchased on line www.luvsbrownies.com/book.

October 2006 will not only mark the 10 th Anniversary of Luv's Brownies, but also Aundrea's commitment to AIDS and AIDS awareness month. After finding out her father was diagnosed with AIDS, Aundrea recommitted her life to giving back, AIDS prevention and awareness. During her celebration, she will take time to give back as proceeds from the celebration will be donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
