New York, NY
(BlackNews.com) - The African American Golfers Digest
plans to again drive record numbers of black golf merchants
to Orlando, Florida for the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show & Convention
that is being held January 25-28, 2007 at the Orange County
Convention Center.
Minority businesses who participate in the collaborative can
expect to experience reaching out to thousands of influential
PGA Professionals, buyers and reporting journalists during
the Show, which is the largest golf trade show of its kind
held in the U.S.
Now, moving
into its third year with the Show, the African American
Golfers Digest's Diversity Pavilion will encompass
800 square feet of exhibit space to showcase and accommodate
the growing participation of companies from across the
country who are either minority-owned, minority-operated,
or specialize in reaching the minority golf marketplace.
"This
Show has given minority golf merchants unprecedented
strength in reaching top decision-makers and buyers
in the golf industry on a domestic and international
level," says Publisher, Debert Cook, who initiated the
booth co-share opportunity concept during the 2004 PGA
Merchandise Show. She indicates that the response was,
"Immediate and welcomed by exhibitors."
"The merchants
who participate with us have fabulous golf products
and services, however, as with many small business owners,
many of them could not afford to participate in the
PGA Show on their own, and the co-share opportunity
works very well in assisting them with secured space
and display opportunities. They also have great opportunities
to learn, share, educate, sell and network their businesses
and services in a professional atmosphere that is conducive
to reaching thousands in the golf industry at just one
Show. A regular ten-foot by ten-foot booth space typically
can cost $3,400. With the collaborative, co-shares are
available to merchants at just $1,100 when secured at
the early bird discount rate," notes Cook.
The list
of exhibitors expands each year and is rapidly growing
for the January 2007 Show. The 2005 list of exhibitors
included: Cotton Golf; Dilla Golf; CS Innovations LLC;
BF Golf Tournament Services; Advanced Lesson Academy
of Golf; Inner City Youth Golfers Inc.; Golf Trainer,
Julius Richardson; Powerful Golf; Hook-Up & Swing; New
Attitude Sports International; Myers Customized Golf
Figurines; TGX Golf; Soulful Golf; and the African
American Golfers Digest.
In addition
to the exhibit space at the Show, participating merchants
receive a number of other benefits including national
marketing and advertising advantage, discounts on travel
and hotel arrangements, sales lead generation and an
opportunity to participate in the onsite press conference
that is hosted by the African American Golfers Digest
and lead by Malachi Knowles, Chairman of the Editorial
Advisory Board and Edward Wanambwa, Senior Editor.
Also, during
Show days several surprise guests, celebrity appearances
and book signings are being scheduled to occur at the
Diversity Pavilion. In 2005 special guests included,
Lee Elder (Senior Tour), Renee Powell (PGA/LPGA), Vern
Burns (mini-tour player), Charles Calhoun (Golf Channels
Big Break), Earnie Ellison (PGA Foundation), Jeff Donovant
(National Black Golf Hall of Fame), Bill Hopson (Disney
Sports & Golf), Burl Bowens (Golf Coach, Hampton University),
and a host of others for attendees to meet and greet.
