DavidSon,
who refers to the book of Genesis in the Bible as "the
book of our genes" shares some startling insights. He
reveals, "All segments of society have issues with consumption
control, but it was particularly designed to destroy
Gods people."
DavidSon
continues, "Eating was involved in the first sin, and
it is not a coincident that the same human function
- eating - was introduced to Jesus as his first temptation."
DavidSon believes that Jesus' reply to Satan, 'man does
not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds
from the mouth of God' exceeds the typical spiritual
value assigned to Jesus response.
Among
other realities about the principle, DavidSon discloses
that Jesus also meant that believers must have regular
periods of abstinence with complete dependence on God's
Word for their physical well-being. DavidSon points
to several illustrations in the life of Jesus where
food was clearly a secondary matter to God's Word. Notably,
he identifies how Jesus taught his disciples that food
was not primary, and experiences where multitudes did
not eat for days without complaining.
DavidSon
observes, this is a battle for all of us, and "we all
know devoted people in ministry who have succumbed to
the dietary demons. Its not an issue that we address
regularly with the same emphasis as drugs, alcohol,
and other vices, but obesity is just as deadly."
DavidSon
pointedly adds, "Over-eating and poor-diet is the indiscretion
below our radar screen, but not the Lord's. DavidSon
believes that masses are being deceived by the multi-billion
dollar diet and exercise related industries.
He concedes,
"People are clearly desperate, and they must do something.
Thank God, we have the answer. Since he designed us,
the Lord knows what we need." He concludes, "The question
is, are we willing to make the sacrifice?"
DavidSon
recently released the companion Christ-based Weight
Management DVD to accompany the workbook released earlier
this year. DavidSon launched the program two years ago,
and more than 300 people have participated.
Referring
to it as a for-life program, DavidSon says, "When people
know the truth, and consistently employ the Christ-based
counseling principles, the power of God's Holy Spirit
ignites them to overcome the dietary demons of darkness."
DavidSon's book and DVD are available at Christbasedcounseling.org
or Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and other retailers.
