Cinnamon Brown
Atlanta, GA (BlackNews.com) - After a series of sold-out concerts in Holland and Germany, mega talented singer/songwriter, Cinnamon Brown, is set to take on the U.S. market. Born and raised in Amsterdam, this vocal chameleon, has mastered her craft -- able to mesh musical genres, from Hip Hop, R&B and Pop coupled with a Reggae spiced message. Cinnamon Brown, whose moniker is derived from letters from her first name and last name (Cindy Limon), is music's spice of life - variety in one package.
Cinnamon Brown, 26, discovered her passion to write music at an early age. Cinnamon recalls listening and absorbing the funk and soul music her father played around the house. "There wasn't a time during my childhood that music wasn't playing in the background," says Cinnamon Brown. Performing professionally for the past eight years, Cinnamon Brown wrote her first song at the young, tender age of eight and has been writing ever since.
It was a high school talent show, which began the Cinnamon Brown movement. She sung a heart-wrenching rendition of Mary J. Blige's "Real Love." Soon after, she found herself singing to thousands of Dutch television viewers, touring various hot spots in Germany and Amsterdam such as the legendary Paradiso and Melkweg. Cinnamon's talent can be heard on her EP with standout tunes like the Caribbean laced "What's Your Name" and the soulful "Say Yes." It is apparent that Cinnamon Brown's star will shine sooner than later. Upon getting her feet wet in the competitive U.S. music scene, Cinnamon Brown envisions herself performing with Atlanta based, Hip-Hop sensation T.I., "I like his energy, lyrics and style," says Cinnamon.
Although she has penned songs for Universal Music Publishing, Cinnamon Brown feels that the time has come for her to go beyond Europe to share her gift with the world. Cinnamon Brown is the real deal -- her determination, infectious energy and passion will make her the next household name.
An impressive A-List gathering of entertainers, from Anita Baker, Bob Marley, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, and Donny Hathaway to Busta Rhymes has influenced Cinnamon Brown.
When she's not writing songs for her debut CD or for Universal Music Publishing, Cinnamon Brown volunteers her time with young girls, empowering them to be leaders and to follow the beat of their drum -- not others. In the future Cinnamon Brown plans to establish a foundation for children who have been victimized by domestic violence.
