Why the Concern About the N-Word?

Bookcover

Los Angeles, CA (BlackNews.com) - To assume that the N-word has no power, and is just another word, is a colossal error in judgment, and as a result...the fate and destiny of a race of people hangs in the balance.

Bury that Sucka, was written to forewarn of the dangers to the Black community the continuous and insistent practice of flirting with a snake of a word...250 plus years of a diabolical, evil and corrupt practice in the destruction of minds of a race of people...support advocating the burial of the N-word. There are those who will never allow the world to forget an infamous 12-year period...but yet there are those who will ask that the darkest and hideous 250 years in the life of a nation should be ignored and forgotten about.

Other than through fabrication, how do you desensitize history?--you can't--it is what it is. Because of their strength, courage and iron-will to not willing allow their spirit to be broken, a race of people were taken...dehumanized by ways and means...that today's modern man would find hard to believe that such atrocious acts were performed upon another human being. Hitler, Saddam, Attila The Hun, come across as choirboys in comparison to such diablerie.

The N-word is more than just a word. To rationalize why it was okay to perform mind numbing acts upon another human being...slaves were branded as being a n****r. A n****r during this time was looked upon as someone who was sub-human. Christians somehow convinced themselves that--in the eyes of God--it was okay to perform sordid and despicable acts upon something that was considered to be sub-human.

N****r...is a creation, an image. To break the will of a race of people they were broken-down and forced to accept a new image of themselves the image of being stupid, ignorant, irresponsible, lowlife, robbed of pride, dignity and self-respect. No love of self, wife or child. This newly created image was labeled with the N-word. Translation: It's okay to do anything to a n****r since they are not considered to be human. There is a macabre psychology behind this word that far exceeds it as just being a racial slur. Desensitize? Take the sting out?

The N-word has an anathematized history...nothing will ever change that. The best way to desensitize this subject is to free yourself from it. The image of the N-word isn't being desensitized it is being reinforced. Just listen to the lyrics from some of the rapper CD's, disrespect for self and women...an image that African Americans have been conditioned to accept of themselves now going on 400 years.

Wake-up! Everybody! A pimp conditions the mind of a prostitute to think and act the way he wants her to. America trained, programmed and conditioned the minds of a race of people to think and act the way it wanted them to. To understand the present we must not ignore the past. There is a crisis in the Black community today. Too many of our young men are being incarcerated; the homeless, drug addicts, dropping out, suspensions and expulsions from schools. Bury that Sucka, shares with you how this is all linked to a deep, dark and twisted past and how the continual practice of embracing the N-word is a self-defeating and self-destructive pre-conditioned custom.

There are now national movements underway to ban this word from the vocabulary of all African Americans. These movements should not and must not be minimized. Though, for many it is far easier to embrace the N-word, rather than free themselves from it. There are reasons, other than what the users provide, as to why this is so...in Bury that Sucka you will learn the whys.

Bury that Sucka, is written in a manner that all can understand. The points are well taken and the wording is easy to follow. There are quotes from great people in our history including Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Muhammad Ali and many, many others. Smith has mixed history with honesty, love with life, and education with effects. This is a great book for educators, parents, managers, professionals, newsmen, and anyone else wanting an in-depth look at the N-word, the effects and the solutions.

H. Lewis Smith has studied the idioms, meanings and the psychological impact of words, its energy and vibratory effects on the human mind for more than two decades. He has been a guest on several talk shows, The Power, The Exchange, Andrea Williams' Jamin 98.3 and many more. To learn more about Bury that Sucka, please visit www.burythatsucka.com
