The Virginia Inaugural Black Tie and Blue Dominion Ball Celebrates the Election of the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama

"Celebrating a Dream Fulfilled"

Chantilly, VA (BlackNews.com) - Join the Virginia Inaugural committee and WUSA 9 in celebrating a dream fulfilled with the election of the 44th President of The United States of America - Barack Obama and in restoring Virginia blue after 30 years. The Virginia Black Tie and Blue Dominion Ball will be held at the Air and Space Museum, The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA, from 7:00 pm and ends at Midnight.

Celebrate the historic moment amidst shadows of the Space Shuttle Enterprise, under the supersonic Concords, Vintage World War II planes, SR 71 Blackbird Spy Plane and original space capsules that orbited the earth.

Honorary Guests include, the new head of the Democratic Party, Governor Timothy Kaine, The Honorable L. Douglas Wilder, The Honorable James Moran, Attorney General designate, Eric Holder, Major General Roger Nadeau and Former Fairfax chairman of Board of Supervisors, The Honorable Kate Hanley. Along with these prominent Virginians, a growing list of celebrities will also be present to include: Actor, Giancarlo Esposito Actress/Author, Jasmine Guy, Tatyana Ali, Artist Representative, S.D. Lockhart Gaye, Author, E. Lynn Harris, 2008 Fencing Olympic Silver Medalist, Keeth Smart and Erin Smart and Former Redskins, Brian Mitchell, Charles Mann, NFL Hall of Fame, Art Monk and many others in celebrating this momentous occasion.

"This night is a historical celebration that will not only celebrate our 44th President, but also pay tribute to the hard working and dedicated Americans who've supported this country," says Del Walters, the Chairman of the Virginia Inaugural Black Tie and Blue Dominion Ball committee and the president of 3PE productions. Other key organizers of the event include; Robin Walters, Dr. Rodney, Dr. Caryl Mussenden Ellis, Mrs. Sandra Stiner Lowe, Mr. Zemira Z. Jones, and Mrs. Danielle Brown.

The ball will be touched by moments of true patriotism, a US Soldier who gave his life on a humanitarian mission in Iraq, and left behind 5-children; will be recognized for the first ever 'Virginia Valor Award' to be awarded by Major General Roger Nadeau. Advancing a mark of respect to soldiers and their families belonging to the 'Wounded Warrior' program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, fifty soldiers will be guests at the inaugural Gala. These soldiers were wounded in military action, and emerged as National War Heroes. It is one of the reasons why WUSA 9 decided to support this ball and why people are excited about participating in this ball.

Over 200,000 US active soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, will be able to celebrate along with guests through an Inaugural Ball Webcast by TV Worldwide (TVWW) at, USVets.TV. TVWW will provide DVD's of the event and will make it available for viewing online for a year, after the event.

The night will feature two of Barack's Favorite groups, The Commodores, followed by Chicago's own Band, Gentlemen of Leisure are scheduled to dazzle the crowd and renowned Artist extraordinaire Michael Israel will paint a massive portrait of Barack Obama on stage.
