Miami-Dade County, FL (BlackNews.com) - The 2nd Bi-Annual Urban Theatre & Entertainment Festival/Awards (UTEF) will kick-off a Celebrity Gala hosted by Singer and Actresses Melba Moore and JoMarie Payton. Invited celebrities guests include: Actor(tresses) of Television and Movies Malik Yoba, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Ella Joyce, Jackee' Harry, Dawnn Lewis, Woodie King and Ted Lange. Industry Legends Marvin Webster of Marvelous Entertainment and Curtis King, Executive Director of TBAAL (The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Inc.) and gifted Playwrights Gary Guidry, Jecaryous Johnson and many more.
This exciting 4-day event will be held July 29-August 2, 2008, with (20) BIG all star theatrical performances; a marketplace for vendors, workshops, dance competition and poetry experience covering South Florida (Dade, Broward and West Palm Beach county). "Simply the best", in entertainment and culturally enriching for the entire family. The total cost is $250.00. Lodging and travel offered in a complete VACATION package for art patrons upon request.

This is a Star studded Hollywood Style Red Carpet Premiere and Opening night Gala hosted by Melba Moore and JoMarie Payton.
The tradition of the Celebrity Gala started in Winston Salem, NC at the "National Black Theatre Festival" and we are continuing this proud tradition. The Festival opens with a “Parade of Stars” and Awards will be given to key individuals and organizations that have impacted the industry after dinner is served.
The night will end with a production that will "kick off" the week of productions.
