Join UMC as it pays tribute to music legends, with a special focus on old school hip hop. Kicking off the month is the premiere of Welcome to Blakroc, from hip hop pioneer and producer Damon Dash. The music/performance documentary focuses on the making of the album of the same name by the Rock/Blues duo, The Black Keys, and features guest appearances from several hip hop acts, including Mos Def, Nicole Wray, Pharoahe Monch, Billy Danze of M.O.P., Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, Jim Jones, NOE of ByrdGang, Raekwon, RZA and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard of Wu-Tang Clan. A follow-up documentary, Blakroc 2, will debut on UMC later in 2016. Also premiering this month is the docu-series Hip Hop Nation, a behind-the-scenes look at the Hip Hop movement and its influence on pop culture.

On Friday, June 17, UMC adds the documentaries Tupac Shakur Vs, which features an in-depth never before seen 1995 interview with the late rapper, and Tupac Shakur: Before I Wake, a look back on Tupac’s final years through the eyes of rap industry legends Eazy-E and Russell Simmons, among others.
