Memphis, TN — Two men have been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-month old baby girl and recording a video of it on a phone in 2016. The two were finally arrested last February after the mother used social media to identify the person on the video, and reported it to police.
In October 2016, the victim’s mother reportedly found videos of the incident on a phone. In one of the videos, Hayes could be seen exposing and touching himself with the baby, who was unclothed from the waist below as seen on the video. Another video shows Hayes allegedly performing sexual acts on the baby.
The two men were arrested in February after the victim’s mother was able to identify the man on the video using social media posts and reported the information to the police. The man seen on the video was identified as Isiah Hayes, who was 17-years old at the time of the incident.
Hayes admitted to inappropriately touching the child, the police said. He was charged with aggravated rape of a child and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Ice, who was identified during a police investigation of Hayes, was charged with aggravated rape of a child and criminal responsibility for conduct of another and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Hayes’ older brother, who asked not to be named, told WREG News that the family found the arrests “heartbreaking and scary.”
“Us as a family, we apologize,” he said. “I know that the child may not remember but it’s something a mother is going to have to hold on to forever. Like, knowing that your child was exposed to something like that. You trusted your child with someone, and you have to deal with seeing this on your own.”
The man said the video surfaced because of a family feud. He also wants his brother to get help because he wasn’t mentally stable at that time.
