Tampa, FL (BlackNews.com) - In May of 2005 Author and Motivational Speaker Tim Hampton emerged as a literary giant with book series entitled Holding My Own and Still Holding My Own. Each telling stories about his experience as a former Texas and Florida prison guard. In March of 2008 Hampton released another award-winning book entitled He Held His Own. Hampton describes his latest book as a simple testimony about how he overcame many hardships in his life to become a successful individual.
Caroline Williamson, a 62 year old Barack Obama campaign volunteer in Atlanta, GA purchased the book from Hampton's website www.holdingmyown.com for her grandson and said she noticed an immediate change in his attitude. "His behavior and demeanor was horrible and very disrespectful most of the time. I asked him to read He Held His Own and he did. He didn't say if he liked it or not, but all of a sudden he is looking for employment and talking about getting his education." Many other Obama volunteers at the College Park based campaign headquaters agree that Hampton's book which comes with a music soundtrack goes hand in hand with the "Call for Change" movement. "Mr. Hampton not only calls for us, mostly young adults to get our lives in order, but he shows us how we can start," stated 18-year-old Crystal Taylor. He writes about how credit card companies trick many young individuals into accepting credit cards, how to repair negative credit on credit reports, and even how to invest money and start small investment groups.
Hampton's book also goes into great detail about the rap music industry and explains how only about 10% of established rappers actually live the lavish lifestyles they often brag and boast about, while the other 90% continue to be mislead and tricked into wasting years of their lives. Hampton even goes as far as calling out Pastors who seemingly have hidden agendas within the purpose of their ministries. He also points out how, as a child his own family mishandled benefits he was entitled to receive from his biological mother's untimely death at the hands of a 14-year-old student.
Tim Hampton, 35, currently resides in Tampa, Florida and his stories are being heavily sought after nationwide by film producers to have his story put onto the big screen as well as top school officials to share his writings and motivational speaking with students across the nation.
