The Women's Sports Foundation Partners with Diversity City Media to Increase the Visibility of African-American Speakers

Sanya Richards

Laila Ali

East Meadow, NY (BlackNews.com) - The Women's Sports Foundation-the leading authority in the participation of women and girls in sports-advocates for equality, educates the public, conducts research and offers grants to promote sports and physical activity for girls and women.

The Women's Sports Foundation and Diversity City Media have teamed up and created a brand new "Sports" category on www.BlackSpeakers.com to go along with their extensive list of speakers. This new category is currently comprised of eight African-American speakers provided by the Women's Sports Foundation. The speakers are Olympic gold medalists Sanya Richards (Track & Field), Gail Devers (Track & Field), Maritza Correia (Swimming), Cullen Jones (Swimming) and Angela Hucles (Soccer); motorcycle drag racer Peggy Llewellyn; host of "American Gladiators," Laila Ali; and President and Managing Partner of the WNBA's Washington Mystics, Sheila C. Johnson.

The Women's Sports Foundation has spent more than 20 years cultivating relationships with its speakers who speak at a variety of events, including graduations, clinics, trade shows, seminars, conferences and more. A percentage of each honorarium paid to the speakers is donated back to the Foundation and directly supports girls and women in sport and physical activity.
