Brooklyn, NY (BlackNews.com) - When you're in your teens and you're confronted with one of life's most bitter realities, how will you cope? When you feel like your only option is either death or imprisonment, what will you do? Author Bruce Hansley gives you a masterpiece, which is a reflection of how he has been feeling and coping with the many trials and hurts while in prison.
The New American Poet: Poems of Love, Inspiration, and Faith is a collection of beautiful poems that speak of the magic of love, the bliss of your first kiss, the hurts in goodbye, and the beauty of rising up with God. These poems likewise capture the real emotional pain of incarceration. As Bruce E. Hansley discovers the gift of writing, he shares an anthology that he hopes would give the same comprehension and enlightenment to the readers as it did to him. Writing can actually heal wounds, keep one strong, and is a gift from the Creator. It could change lives.
Included at the end of each chapter in the book is a Reflection Section that allows you to ponder on and forever capture the wonderful insights learned from the poems; also, an illumination/afterward at the end of the book expresses the true meaning behind every poem. You will discover that it is love that keeps you strong, inspiration that keeps you dreaming and faith that brings it to a reality. Let The New American Poet: Poems of Love, Inspiration, and Faith speak to your mind, your heart and your pain -- a must-read for anyone who wants to know about incarceration.

About the Author
Bruce Hansley was born in 1973 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Paul Robeson High School, only to drop out by the tenth grade due to a fascination with the street life.
Like most Brooklyn kids, the streets became his school, his father, and his friend. His mother always warned him, "You'll either get killed or locked up." The latter befell him, but while in prison, his life would change and he would obtain his formal education. He would start his journey of self-study, self-improvement and creative writing.
His poem, Looking through a Window, has certified him as a Semi-finalist in the International Open Poetry contest of June 2008. Author Bruce Hansley is currently incarcerated but will be released in October 2009.
He studied Sign Language, Braille and Spanish. He plays keyboard, writes music and is the next uber producer.
