Groups Traveling to Washington for Obama Inauguration Have New Way to Capture the Historical Experience

Charlotte, NC (BlackNews.com) - Over 4 million people are projected to be descending on Washington DC to witness the historical inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. A large percentage of these people will be from African-American church and civic groups traveling to DC from across the country.

This unique experience will be recorded in a variety of ways. Many will bring their digital cameras, camcorders and even use their cell phone. Everyone will promise to share their pictures, but with so many ways to capture these memories, the best of intentions can be difficult to fulfill.

PhotoVision offers a product called Create A Video(TM) that provides a solution for this problem. They produce keepsake DVD videos made from digital photos. The company provides the group with a high quality Canon® digital camera(s). The group takes pictures with the camera(s), and returns it to the company in a postage prepaid box when they return home from the inauguration. In about two weeks, DVD's are sent to the group leader to be given to the trip participants. All the photos are posted online and accessed with a user name and password that is provided on the video. They can download, print, and email the photos. The videos will feature appropriate music for the event, special effects, custom zooms and pans, and have a dramatic opening with a custom title featuring the group's name, and three custom closing titles to thank sponsors and participants.

The videos produced from Obama's inauguration will be made on a commemorative DVD featuring the President-elect and the historical occasion. It will include the photos the group takes while traveling to Washington, their experience during and after the inauguration, and their travels back home. It will likely become a family heirloom over time.

Linda Wellborn, sales manager for a group of hotels just north of the DC area says, 'this is a wonderful idea. It makes it easy for everyone to share in this historical experience. It is simple and easy to do. We have a lot of groups attending the inauguration, and they love the idea."

The company has created a website to make it easy for groups to order cameras and the DVD's, www.inaugurationvideo.com. This special edition custom video is priced at $15 each, with a minimum order of 10 DVD's.

PhotoVision serves nearly 3,000 groups a year who travel as student trips, mission trips, family reunions and senior groups. They produce their unique video product made from digital pictures at facilities in Charlotte NC and Cambridge, England. Their services are offered through hundreds of tours operators in the US and UK, and directly to groups through their website, www.createavideo.com
