| Will Peace Chats Win The Pepsi Refresh Grant?
Peace Chats was founded by Ruby L. Taylor, a social worker who provides support for overcoming major stumbling blocks in the process of grief and healing after the death of a loved one.

Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- Ruby L. Taylor is no stranger to the pain of loss. The murder of her brother Daniel Tyrone Taylor immediately after her fourteenth birthday became the primary impetus for her lifelong quest to understand the mourning process. From that moment on, her concern was not only for herself but for those whose lives have been seriously wounded by sudden loss or major life changes. In addressing these concerns, she discovered not only inner strength, but her life's work as well.

Through her pain and anger Ms. Taylor created a documentary entitled Mad Believer, in which she chronicles her own and her family's journey through the grieving process. Mad Believer was recently developed into a program entitled Peace Chats. Peace Chats will create a climate of peace and non-violence by increasing grief and healing awareness in urban communities. Peace Chats will use Mad Believer documentary to spread the message of grief, healing and peace. Mad Believer is a powerful tool for grief and loss because it gives a personal story about urban violence and the process of grieving, and healing.
Peace Chats was accepted into the Pepsi Refresh Project for the month of September. In order for Peace Chats to win the grant it must be in the top 10 of the $25,000 category.
