Water damage at Kiddies Kastle |
Columbus, OH (BlackNews.com) - Margaret Belcher is the owner/director of a day care center in Columbus, Ohio. It is located in a low-socio economic area of the city. Her program focus was early literacy teaching young children to read. The City of Columbus contracted with an Akron, Ohio contractor for a water sewer project. As a result of this action, by the contractor, and the changing of the land grading, Mrs. Belcher’s property has become the water basin for all of the surrounding properties within a given area. This has totally destroyed her business. This problem has existed for at least 15 years with the knowledge of the Mayor and his staff.
Today this lonely warrior has continued her struggle to restore and save her property. The level of harassment she endures on a regular basis is almost unbelievable. It is so bizarre, even Mrs. Belcher understands why this story would be questioned and hard to believe. To that end she has voluntarily stated her willingness to undergo whatever tests necessary to establish her mental competency. Repeated request for an investigation have been ignored.
Recent contacts and/or meetings with Judges, Attorney General , representatives, has only resulted in more illegal actions that appear to be condoned and directed by other than ordinary working people. Daily burglaries and assigned officers to investigate are never carried out. Her continued trek has led to a terrain of even murkier waters.
Mrs. Belcher is told she needs a lawyer by other lawyers and judges and yet no one will help secure legal representation. Money is not the problem. Mrs. Belcher’s research has discovered Ohio Senate Bill 140 which will pay all court costs and legal fees since it is an established fact that her first amendment rights have been violated, due process, by refusing to let her be heard while speaking to the public at city council. Cameras were deliberately turned off. This is a federal statute. Her calls for services or complaints conjure up storms and dark clouds and everyone runs for cover.
Official documents and files of former Community Relations director, James Stowe, now with Human Rights Director, Montgomery County Maryland with whom she worked have disappeared. Extensive research by a civil engineer, engaged by Mrs. Belcher, has been completed. Other witnesses are available. Missing, is a lawyer willing to live by and defend his creed.
This is a plea to legal scholars, practicing attorneys, students aspiring to enter the profession, law schools willing to take this project, free speech advocates and any person of good will and courage to call, Justice Department (every City has a local number), Civil Rights Group, T.V. and radio stations. Also e-mail this news release to as many people as possible to notify them of this egregious situation, that continues because they lack this public information. Simply ask, what is going on in Columbus, Ohio.
As this major July 4th Holiday approaches, there is no more appropriate time to read your preamble and test your commitment to this lofty document that this is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Make your voices heard and hold government responsible. She desperately needs your help. She needs your active participation.
