Actress Lupita Nyong’o Named By People Magazine as the World’s “Most Beautiful” Person For 2014

Hollywood, CA — Talented actress Lupita Nyong’o has been named by the world’s most circulated commercial magazine as the “Most Beautiful Person” for 2014. She is on the cover of the People magazine’s latest Special Double issue.

Nyong’o, who recently won an Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in “12 Years a Slave,” also recently signed a major endorsement deal with Lancôme Paris cosmetics. Born in Mexico, but raised in Kenya, the 31-year old actress, has also seen a boost in her acting career and is expected to star in several upcoming projects.

This year’s Most Beautiful cover was unveiled on the Today show, and Nyong’o commented, “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment. I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen.”

She also talked about beauty and how good she feels when she has been called beautiful even with no makeup on and no pretty dress. “Happiness is the most important thing,” she said, implying that beautiful is more than physical attributes.

Other women that appeared in the magazine among the “Top 50 Most Beautiful” people included actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts and Julianna Margulies.
