Black Woman Authorpreneur Solo Represents Black Community at Major International Book Conference in Frankfurt, Germany

Nationwide — Lindsy Bivens is a published author and empowerment speaker-turned publishing professional, who after learning difficult lessons through self-publishing, was fueled with a passion to solve problems for new authors. As Founder/Creative Director of The Author’s Pen, LLC, Bivens has taken consistent action to serve the author community.

Upon relocating from Jacksonville, Florida to Houston, Texas in late 2016, Bivens hit the ground running. She has actively sought opportunities to spread the word about the kind of support every author deserves. She was a local competitor in the SBA’s 2017 HCC InnovateHER Business plan competition, competed in the 2017 New Spring Business plan competition and was invited to The Pitch 2017, a London-based entrepreneur competition because of her ability to not only articulate a pressing need, but her compelling solutions.

Feeling the urge to take massive action and create positive change for authors, Bivens headed to Germany for a weeklong training at the 2017 Frankfurt Book Fair where she learned from global leaders. Bivens is committed to supporting people who write. She continues to grow her reach locally, nationally and now, internationally. She vows to change the narrative for emerging authors.

The Author’s Pen, LLC is a startup publishing support company founded in 2016 with a mission of helping authors move beyond producing a product – to seeing real progress. Current offerings include: coaching, workshops and seminars, editing and proofreading and project management for publication. Launching author training winter 2017.
