Celebrating South Florida's Most Accomplished Blacks in Healthcare & Law

ICABA(TM) Inaugural Event to Honor the Region's Top 100 Icons, Luminaries and Rising Stars

Channel 10 News Anchor Calvin Hughes to Serve as Master of Ceremony

Davie, FL (BlackNews.com) - Where can you meet Miami's first Black female federal judge, Broward General Hospital's first Black physician and Palm Beach County's first Black judge? They and others will be honored at the ICABA(TM) Inaugural Recognition Reception celebrating South Florida's 100 Most Accomplished and Influential Blacks in Healthcare & Law. This special event will be held on Friday, November 13th, 6:00 PM, at Nova Southeastern University's H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the public is invited to join the celebration. WPLG -TV Channel 10 news anchor Calvin Hughes will be the Master of Ceremony.

Want to know who started Broward County's first licensed practical nurse program, a program so successful that white students also enrolled? Who created Palm Beach County's Drug Court, which helps place citizens in much-needed treatment? Find out when these 140 fascinating phenoms gather at Nova. The ICABA Profile Directory, a pictorial book featuring the honorees, also will be launched at the gala.

The event is hosted by ICABA Media Holdings, LLC, a Weston-based company that recently launched ICABA World, a first-of-its-kind relationship-building convergence network for accomplished Black professionals and entrepreneurs. "I've met many extraordinary Black people nationwide who expressed a desire for enhanced networking venues for Black professionals," said ICABA CEO Jerome Hutchinson Jr. "We created a powerful solution to bring the community together through a high-tech/high-touch platform."

ICABA: The Black Achievers Convergence Network

Most networking venues, explains Hutchinson, are either online or in-person. However, the ICABA convergence network is the integration of three points of contact -- an online social networking site; printed profile directories and in-person signature events. This trilogy of contact points forms a powerful networking platform exclusively created for prominent Black achievers to establish ongoing relationships, develop partnerships and pursue business opportunities.

The November 13th Recognition Reception at Nova is one segment of the networking trilogy, which enables attendees to interact in-person. Next, the roster of dynamic honorees comes to life in the pages of the ICABA Profile Directory, a fascinating pictorial book of remarkable, but little-known stories behind the lives of Black professionals and entrepreneurs who are positively impacting South Florida. Honorees will each receive a copy of the directory.

The last, but equally important segment is the ICABA World social networking site, which is a wide-reaching tool that brings accomplished Black professionals together globally. Unlike Facebook or other social networking sites that allow millions of users, ICABA participants are limited to those people who are profiled in a company directory or have been recommended by other members, based on their accomplishments.

Together, these three points of contact form the ICABA Black Achievers Convergence Network. The network also provides a platform for marketers interested in relationship-building opportunities with affluent Blacks.

The Recognition Reception at Nova University is open to the public. Tickets are $50 each, include a copy of the directory and can be purchased at www.ICABAWorld.com. Limited seats are available.
