Newark, NJ (BlackNews.com) - ECSMG Consulting, LLC held its first annual Newark Celebrity Weekend, August 22nd and 23rd, and during the Hip Hop Business Summit at NJ PAC Ernest Ruffin, Managing Director and founder, announced that the firm was starting a social network for entrepreneurs.
Hood Economix (www.hoodeconomix.com) is a place where entrepreneurs can go and get pertinent information about how to start, grow and sustain a successful business. The website has articles of interest to business owners, live one-on-one interviews with other entrepreneurs sharing information important to their success via the Hood Economix TV segment of the site. The fast growing network of business people from the across the country allows its members to connect with companies that may be in the same industry or different, but have similar issues and they can partner to work them out, share success stories or more importantly become clients to one another. Membership is approaching 10,000 after two weeks.
Colleges and high schools can use the site as a learning tool with real life stories and connect with entrepreneurs. Ruffin plans on launching a business plan writing contest where the winner will receive $10,000 in start-up money and a starter business kit with everything needed to start and incorporate a new business. The contest will be judged by five leaders of successful small businesses.
Hood Economix TV captures business leaders and highlights the challenges they faced on their road to building successful companies. The site will also feature former professional athletes, actors and actresses who have made the transition from the entertainment world to business.
