Bookcover
Brooklyn, NY (BlackNews.com) -- Even with the apparent change to prosperity, one element has remained to harness us; that being man's selfish greed, which this novel does address. This thought-provoking novel is written in a style that allows the well constructed characters to grow and express their own individual outlook of any involve, be it of a family concern or of a personal nature.
The prose is often lyrical - the progression of story reveals a most uncommon death, which gives the reader cause to react perhaps harshly at having their emotions so aroused as they will champion some one or the other character. For certain, more than one member of this written cast of characters will be reminiscent of some fact of life as the reader knows it to be.
Perhaps, readers will be entangled by the selfish ways of one protagonist, or the pompous ways of another, maybe it will be the undeserved catastrophes delivered to the innocent, or the tyrannical rage that brings disaster. These and other scenarios are heavily embedded within the pages of this ethnic novel, where, a form of mistreatment is said to be love.
All said: an interesting, tragic story that should be read.
