Corey “Lil C Note” Jackson was arrested for selling CDs at a mall

Cumberland, GA — Corey Jackson, a 12-year old aspiring rapper also known as Lil C-Note or Corey J, recently appeared in court to defend himself against felony charges. A few months ago, he was arrested by an off-duty police officer who accused him of illegally selling CDs at a Georgia mall.

Jackson, who went viral back in March 2017 for his appearance on The Ellen Show, has since continued his passion in music.

However, in October 2018, he was inside the food court at the Cumberland Mall in Georgia when a police officer, who was off-duty at that time, grabbed his arm and arrested him for allegedly selling CDs at the mall. Jackson’s aunt recorded the incident on a video and he posted it on Instagram.

A police report stated that it was the second time Jackson had been involved in selling CDs in the mall.

Jackson has been charged with felony obstruction, misdemeanor obstruction, and criminal trespassing. He was later on released to the custody of his father instead of being put in jail.

Meanwhile, Jackson’s lawyer, Mawuli Davis, denied the allegations against Jackson in court on Tuesday.

“When he was there, he was not selling any CDs or doing anything that would have been prohibited he was there meeting other artists,” Davis said.

Davis is looking forward to having the case dismissed or else, they will proceed to trial.

Jackson expressed his reaction to his court appearance on his Instagram. He wrote on the caption, in part, “Seriously like I really wake up everyday asking myself why would this police officer tell these ludicrous/ridiculous stories on me that now have me having to go to court facing a felony at 12 years old as if I’m really a robber, killer / Murderer or some kid that cuss out and fight police officers or sum!!”
