Nationwide (June 6, 2013) -- It's been a week since it's release and more than 35,000 internet views later, many people have said the same thing, "Wow, I remember that growing up!" Comedic Actor Stevieweevie grew up on School House Rock in the 1970's and there has not been anything else like it since. His favorite video from the series was "VERB! THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENING!" because it featured a different kind of character... the first Black male superhero to be featured in a Saturday morning cartoon.
It is his first official project under his newly formed companies Edmondson Village Films, LLC & Stevieweevie Productions, LLC. Although it is an independent project with the video not being monetized and for promotional purposes only, it is his first project in which people will see first hand what else there is to come from the intriguing mind of this 40 something year old recently divorced Johns Hopkins educated no kids having comedian who insists he will play Redd Foxx when Hollywood decides to make the great comic's biopic.
After training at the American Comedy Institute, comedian Stevieweevie jumped right in. Since then, he's been fortunate to work on his craft by performing on stages in New York and Los Angeles such as; Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live, and Carolines on Broadway, The New York Comedy Club, Tommy T's Comedy Club and The J Spot Comedy Club to name a few.
"Some of his career highlights have included Nephew Tommy's "50 Comics Deep" in Columbia, South Carolina, "D.C.'s Funniest Fed Competition" for federal employees in Washington DC, being in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition 2011, 2012, 2013 in Oakland, California and J. Anthony Brown's "So You Think You're Funny" in Los Angeles, where he was a Semi-Finalist. He also made 2nd round auditions for America's Got Talent in Atlanta; however, did not make the final cut to appear on TV. He's has opened for comedians B-Plat, Reginald "Bruh Man" Ballard and Rob Cantrell to name a few. One of the most memorable moments was a personal invite from Louis CK to appear on his television show "LOUIE" on the F/X Network. Although, Stevieweevie was in Los Angeles during the same day he needed to be onset in New York, it was an honor to be recognized. He did not know Louis CK was actually watching his videos on YouTube.
With comedy classes under his belt, Stevieweevie thought it would be a natural progression to take acting classes. He attended an intensive actors' workshop with TSAW (The Tasha Smith Actors Workshop) conducted by Tasha Smith herself. He went on to take private acting lessons with casting director Wendy McKenzie (Blind Side, Notorious) of "In the Wink of an Eye" in New York City, as well as her "Art Of The Audition" & "Work That Acting Muscle" acting classes. He has also taken classes with talent producer Kristen Jeddy in her "Seriously Funny Workshop Series". Since Kristen & Wendy are affiliated, Stevieweevie has been fortunate enough to learn from some of today's inspiring artists and industry people like Kim Coles (Living Single, Frasier) & Chi McBride (iRobot, The Terminal, Golden Boy), casting director Tracy "Twinkie" Byrd (Sparkle, Jumping the Broom), Cringe Humor's Cris Italia (Talent Manager), casting associate Susanne Scheel (Argo, MoneyBall), actor/producer Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire, Lottery Ticket), actress Squeaky Moore (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and executive producer Marjorie Clarke (Burger King, Lincoln) of UniWorld Group Advertising Agency. Stevieweevie says Wendy & Kristen workshops are much different from everyone else's because they have industry people there teaching you first hand.
Stevieweevie has also had the pleasure of taking "Acting: Making It Your Business Acting Seminar" in association with "Behind The Lenz", an intensive given by actresses Tiffany E. Green & Crystal Lee Brown featuring guest speaker Clifton Powell at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Last year, Stevieweevie visited the world's largest comedy festival & conference in the world, "Just For Laughs 2012" in Montreal, Canada where he promoted himself by giving out 500 DVD's and 500 T-shirts to industry professionals. He said he was overwhelmed by the amount of celebrities he got a chance to rub elbows with. One the highlights was when Howie Mandel said, "Is that fish really coming out of your ..." Stevieweevie says it costed him a small fortune, but getting on industry folks radar screens is more important to him than worrying about what it's costing him to "get in". He has reportedly spent almost six figures over the last 3 years trying to break into show business and says, "If you are broke trying to break into show business, then God bless you because it is a journey." Stevieweevie has created quite a brand for himself and says most comedians & actors have no idea how to brand themselves. His signature silhouette with fish coming out of his butt is the talk of town and keeps people wondering: "Why is he shhhing fish?"
Using both comedy and acting, Stevieweevie has created quite a niche for himself with his many music video parodies & comedy sketches of some of today's hottest stars as well as hip hop & R & B artists. It has proven to be extremely successful for him. His success at creating these parodies and producing 6 "viral" music video parodies has gained him much exposure.
With the help of his dream team, Amotion of Deep Flow Studios in Baltimore as well as Film Maker Tee Platinum of the Clinton Media Group in Atlanta, Stevieweevie has accumulated a whopping 6 million internet views collectively on multiple websites!
Stevieweevie has over 100 videos on his YouTube channel. Collectively his videos can also be viewed on many websites to include World Star Hip Hop, World Star South, iLP Video, VLADTV, Funny or Die, MP3Waxx, Coast2Coast Mixtapes and Video City Television. Having so many views has landed him a featured article in "Big in Da Streets Magazine" dubbed "The Funniest Man in America." Stevieweevie says, "Yeah right, I wish."
Recently Stevieweevie has started two companies Stevieweevie Productions, LLC and Edmondson Village Films, LLC. He plans to start producing several short films as well as hip hop based musical dramas based on today's hottest music. He claims his visual works of art are going to be unlike anything ever seen. He guarantees his work will set him apart from other filmmakers in the industry. He says early next year he plans to film a pilot for television, not giving out any clues as to what the pilot will be, he simply said, "You Big Dummy!" and left it at that. A freight train with no brakes, he says nothing can and will stop him from getting his visions out to the public.
