(BlackNews.com) -- Body Sculpt of New York, Inc. in partnership
with Black Woman’s Journey to Health & Fitness (BWJHF), will
present their 5th Annual Children’s Sports and Fitness Expo
on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 10 AM - 6 PM at two locations:
Minisink Townhouse, 646 Lenox Avenue, off of West 142nd
Street and the Harlem Armory, One West 142nd Street between
5th and Lenox Avenue.
The expo will feature more than 30 sports clinics taught by
sports, fitness and dance professionals in the following fields:
African Dance, Ballet, Basketball, Boxing, Double Dutch, Fencing,
Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Healthy Cooking for the Entire
Family, Healthy Cooking for Kids, Hip Hop Dance, Jazz, Martial
Arts, Modern Dance, Soccer, Step, Swimming, Table Tennis,
Tap, Tennis, Track & Field, Strength Training, Wrestling and
Yoga and more –- free of charge.
“We
want to encourage children and adults to participate in as
many sports activities as possible with the hopes that they
will find an activity that they enjoy and choose to follow
a healthy and productive lifestyle,” says Vincent Ferguson,
creator of the Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo and president
and founder of Body Sculpt of New York, Inc., a not-for-profit
health and fitness organization.
In addition to the sports activities, the Children’s Sports
& Fitness Expo will provide health screenings from Harlem
Hospital and other health organizations. The expo will feature
an entertainment component with celebrity appearances and
performances by Shaun T creator of Hip Hop Abs (performing
his hit “Rockin Body”), P-star, Ringling Brother Circus, and
more.
