Carbon Bazaar Launches Culturally Cued Online Marketplace to Provide Cyber Shoppers With Fifty Shades of Chic

New York, NY (December 17, 2013) -- Carbon Bazaar joins the burgeoning ranks of online sites that allow customers to shop without leaving their living rooms. But what separates the newest e-commerce site from the virtual rest? Its timely mission to take a byte out of an untapped market. Nowhere else will consumers be offered such a carefully curated insider look into the world of designers and artists of color in men's and women's fashion, accessories, jewelry, beauty, art, stationery, lifestyle and books.

Carbon Bazaar is the brainchild of co-founders, Duane Thomas and Sharon Graham, two creative friends who met while attending Fashion Institute of Technology. Thomas, a magazine veteran and photo books author, has worked at the helm of the art departments of national consumer magazines including Essence, Self, Elle and Vogue. He was also the author of Body & Soul: The Black Male Book (Universe Publishing). Graham is a designer and product development manager with over 15 years experience working at fashion labels Ralph Lauren, HMX Group (licensee for Ivanka Trump) and Lerner New York (NY & Co).
"Being part of the editorial process exposed me to a plethora of talented designers and entrepreneurs,"' explains Thomas. "Some are unsung brands - others are established - but, we realized, both needed a special showcase to provide them with a wider audience."
Adds Graham, "Our goal at Carbon Bazaar is to connect, empower and support the community at large."
