Baltimore, MD — BCP Digital Printing is pleased to announce significant expansion in its capacity to serve its current customers and to provide the same degree of service excellence to future customers. The acquisition of a Horizon 470 Perfect Binder and two additional Xerox Nuvera 144 Digital Presses from Xerox provides BCP Digital Printing with state of the art technologies that enable the company to meet the printing demands of its growing customer base, as well as produce the titles of its parent company, Black Classic Press Inc.

W. Paul Coates founded Black Classic Press in 1978, and when he established BCP Digital Printing in 1995, the company became one of the earliest publishers to add digital book printing to its capabilities. Through strategic management of the company’s steady growth, Coates and his team have steered BCP Digital through the economic ups and downs of the last two decades to its present position as a leader in the digital printing industry.

“We are proud of our track record of providing high-quality print products and excellent customer service,” Coates says. “We are also excited about the agility, flexibility and enhancements made possible by the new equipment, which will result in faster turnaround times for our customers.”

With the addition of the new printers, Coates says the company can print 500 200-page books per hour or 1,000 100-page books in that same time. “And by adding the 470 Perfect Binder, we are able to bind as many books as we can print within that same hour,” Coates explains.

BCP Digital Printing has used Xerox production printing equipment since it founding in 1995, Coates says, “The Xerox printers cost a bit more than other printers, but they are work horses, and Xerox supports us with a service team that is second to none.” In addition to the new equipment, the company also owns a Xerox 1000i Color Press and three other black and white Xerox Nuvera Digital Presses.
