Race, The Final Frontier

Is the Obama – McCain Battle the Truth of America?

By Herbet J. Harris

Bookcover

Author - Herbert J Harris

"As the presidential election tightens, race is becoming the final frontier in the campaign for president," claims H J Harris, author of America the Racist?, a new book that takes a bare knuckles approach to racism.

With the economy tanking, the war dragging on, and unemployment rising, the only issue to raise against Obama and the change he represents is that he is a black American. Other cover-up excuses and reasons will be given not to support Obama. Outright lies and distortions about Obama's religion and background are circulating in the religious and secular communities. Some churches are even violating the tax codes by publicly endorsing McCain and criticizing Obama. But, in the end, race will be the deal-breaker. This is documented in a poll conducted August 25th through September 5th of this year.

According to this poll conducted by Stanford University in conjunction with the Associated Press and Yahoo, racial prejudice could cost Obama the presidency.

The poll found that one-third of white Democrats have negative views against black Americans. Along party lines, the poll found that 71% of white Democrats supported Obama as opposed to 85% of white Republicans supporting McCain.

"This is not surprising. In fact it is absolutely predictable," says Harris. Racism was inherent in the birth of America and, "...the framers of the Declaration of Independence never intended for black Americans to participate in the benefits of freedom and equality in America."

America the Racist? shows how the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were impacted by signers who owned slaves and endorsed slavery.

"Where we stand in America today is the fruit of the seeds of racism planted with the birth of this nation," claims Harris.

America the Racist? is a must read for all Americans as this presidential campaign evolves. People will be seeking to understand subtle forms of racism like the "Bradley Factor". When Tom Bradley ran for Governor of California in 1982, the polls were showing a comfortable lead for certain victory. When the votes were counted, Bradley lost.

White voters said one thing to political pollsters about voting for a black American -- professing a non-racist attitude. When they voted, they did the opposite -- expressing a subtle, hidden racism.

The recent poll suggests that white Americans are coming out of the closet and expressing their racism freely and, in some cases, proudly. According to a recent article, a white American expressing the sentiment of his friends at an Ohio coffee shop said, "We still don't like black people."

In order to change these deep-seated racist attitudes, every American should read America the Racist? by author H. J. Harris before they vote in the 2008 presidential election.

This 172 page paperback, available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, provides a concise, easy to read, historical, spiritual, and psychological treatment of Racism in America. It deals with the causes, evolution, and possibilities to overcome racism in the future. Once we understand why we are where we are as a nation, then we are better equipped to determine what we must do to become the "one Nation under God" described in Dr. King's dream and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Obama - McCain battle for the presidency is a crucial test of the conscience and moral fiber of America.

Obama sees victory based on America living up to its creed that "all men are created equal..." In the imagery of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Obama is presenting the great check to America and expecting it to clear, paid-in-full.

A victory for McCain can be considered a coded way of saying that, in the final analysis, white Americans will not vote for a black American man to lead this country.

The information contained in America the Racist? shows why the cancer of racism can flare up and a significant number of white Americans will not be able to get beyond the ingrained racism they have been taught from the beginning of this nation. This book is critical to all black and white Americans as they face both the greatest challenge and the greatest opportunity to save America and help it live out its creed.
