Nationwide — 33-year old singer Alicia Keys recently opened up to Wendy Williams about her life and career, and on why she became friends with her husband Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife for the sake of their children. Despite the controversy and rumors that Keys stole her now-husband from his former wife, Mashonda Tifrere, Keys actually sets the record straight and shows a lot of maturity during the interview.
She adds, “They can really see that they have more than one woman to look to and say, ‘What can I learn here?’ ‘What can I learn there?’ And it’s fatherhood and motherhood and it’s friendship. It’s really, really important and I think it’s so beautiful. It doesn’t always work but it’s totally possible. And it can work when everybody really wants to do the right thing for the children.”
During the interview, Keys also talked about her marriage, preparing for their second child that is due at the end of December, her Keep A Child Alive foundation, and her upcoming children’s book entitled Blue Moon: From the Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee.
Regarding her husband, she said, “We’ve known each other forever, and that’s the thing that makes us feel like we just have kindred spirits.
